L4K3 BRAND HISTORY

The brand name "L4K3" is derived from the word "LAKE."
The numbers "4" and "3" in the brand name can be replaced with letters "4 = A" and "3 = E" to express their true meaning.
The brand was born in 2009 on Lake Iseo in Lombardy, northern Italy.
The town of Sarnico on Lake Iseo is known for being the home of the shipyard of the Ferretti Group, a boat builder beloved by celebrities around the world, and is also a place where advanced technology in the manufacturing of luxury yachts and cruisers is concentrated.
This place has a long history and is home to craftsmen with traditional Italian techniques and design skills.
Monte Isola (Monte Island) is located on Lake Iseo, with an area of approximately 65.3 km2.
In the 1400s, Brescia citizens who resisted the Venetian Republic's rule over the area were imprisoned in a prison built on Monte Island.
The prisoners had to make ropes to arm the ships of the Venetian navy.
On October 18, 1797, Napoleon, who had launched his Italian campaign, defeated the Austrian army and concluded the peace treaty, the Treaty of Campo Formio, which resulted in the abolition of the Republic of Venice and the liberation of the citizens of Brescia.
At that time, the French army allowed the people of Brescia to make nets and ropes as self-employed, which gave rise to the rope industry on Lake Iseo.
The ropes are made using the same traditional methods as back then, and the machines used are slower versions from that time.
In recent years, the majority of rope manufacturers are required to be able to mass-produce ropes in a short amount of time, but when it comes to marine ropes, the nylon fabric loses its luster and strength when produced quickly.
To produce a shiny, strong rope, production must be done at a moderate speed, and by using original machinery, of which very few remain today, we are able to achieve an unparalleled quality that cannot be reproduced anywhere else.
In addition, as a final process, a proprietary vaporized material is passed through every corner of the nylon rope, making it possible to create a rope with even greater strength.
These detailed processes, which are not carried out by other companies, make the ropes made on Monte Island the highest quality in the world.

Monte Island's nautical ropes are also used for luxury boats and in international regatta sports, where high quality is required.
It has also been chosen as the highest quality rope for the goal nets used in soccer's Serie A and Champions League.
Lake Iseo is known as one of the most challenging diving spots in Europe, and professional divers from all over the world come here to try to break the Guinness World Record.
The brand has had long-standing ties with the famous diving team of Lake Iseo, and when it was first launched, it began producing bags and shoes using neoprene, named after the fabric used in the diving suits they used.
As we continued to explore fabrics together with local professional divers who support professional divers and built connections with various companies, this fabric became the symbol of L4K3.
The invisible poly patch on the back of the neoprene used in this fabric has been improved to allow the embossing to stand out more clearly.
This special embossing process is not possible with regular neoprene fabrics available on the market, and this high-performance lining is used on the back of the durable fabric.
L4K3's neoprene bags, which use the nautical rope and neoprene material that are the brand's symbols, are currently only sold in Japan.
